All UNC students are required to complete 31 credit hours from their LAC, regardless of major. The UNC catalog contains information on the specific LAC requirements that students must complete. Students declared in catalog years prior to Fall 2021 should see the “Liberal Arts Core” section.

All UNC students are required to complete 40 credit hours from their LAC, regardless of major. The UNC catalog contains information on the specific LAC requirements that students must complete.
Courses listed in the Liberal Arts Curriculum/Liberal Arts Core can count toward LAC categories if taken in the semester indicated. If your coursework is over 10 years old, please see the University Policy regarding previous credits earned and transfer credits.
